I cannot pass through Marks and Spencer without picking up a pack of Percy Pigs. I’m a fiend for jelly sweets: cola bottles, jelly snakes so Percy Pigs are right up my street. It also makes me popular with my daughter when I bring some home!

I’m amazed that Percy Pigs are 25 years old. Since 1992 the porcine treat has been gracing the checkouts, tempting you into that last minute ‘go on then’ purchase. M&S sells over 300 million Percy sweets each year, which equates to approximately 10 sweets every second! If you lined them up ear to ear, Percy becomes quite the globetrotter and will stretch all the way to Hawaii! Aloha!

I also didn’t realise there are now dozens of varieties: Pennys, tigers, pandas, piglets, pig tails, all sorts!
