To celebrate, I’ve teamed up with Grant Creative Cuisine to giveaway this amazing gadget, an Uno Sous Vide Controller worth £129.

I’ve used one of these before and the Uno Sous Vide Controller is a great way to get started with sous vide. It uses a gadget you already have such as a slow cooker or rice cooker and turns it into a sous vide cooker. First fill your gadget with water. You put your plug into the Uno, then plug it in the wall socket. A probe goes from the Uno into the water. Set your temperature, and off you go. The Uno will stop and start the heat in your device to keep it at a constant temperature. It’s a very clever device and looks gorgeous to boot. You can buy one here.

You will know from the title whether you want this book already: it appeals to Londoners who brunch!

I love a lazy breakfast that some how turns into brunch. There are some places local to me but I always end up in the same eateries. This clever book however is split into sections of London (North, West etc) so you can browse by location. I’ve certainly discovered a few new great ideas for eating out at the weekend! There’s also a handy break down of the best dishes and drinks at each place.

Incidentally if you’re wondering what time brunch is, check out this excellent analysis! tl;dr it’s between 10:01am to 1:40pm.

Unfortunately these types of guides can go out of date once they’re published, but if you’re a Londoner it’s a great little guide to have if you’re looking for Brunch inspiration.

Vanilla is one of my favourite ingredients. It immediately perks up any dessert and baking, with it’s distinctive floral perfume. Heston Blumenthal says you can add vanilla as a substitute for sugar, as we so closely associate vanilla with so many desserts.
